If this young actor doesn’t ring a bell, that’s about to change. The son of two major movie stars, Jack Quaid’s career is currently on a meteoric rise, landing a string of leading roles on both TV and film. Here’s what you need to know about this new face.
1) Well-known parents
Jack Henry Quaid was born on April 24, 1992, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid, who were married from 1991 to 2001. The two actors fell in love on the set of DOA, their second film, after 1987’s Inner Circle. Following their divorce, the two actors had other children from other relationships. Jack has two half-sisters and a half-brother.
2) A family affair
Jack showed interest in his parents’ profession early in life. He began acting in school plays at a young age and attended the prestigious New York University Tisch School of the Arts, which trains the actors, screenwriters, and filmmakers of tomorrow. Other artists who graduated from this school include Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, and Philip Seymour-Hoffman.
3) A notable first role
The actor made his big screen debut in 2012 in one of the most lucrative franchises in history: The Hunger Games. He played Marvel in the first installment of the series, The Hunger Games: The Movie, a character he reprised for a cameo in the second film, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
4) A familiar voice
In addition to landing major roles on both the small and big screen, Jack is a fan of voice acting and lends his voice to various characters in video games and animated series. In 2014, he became the voice of Dirhael, the son of the main character in the video game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. He also lent his voice to Brad Boimler’s character in the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks from 2020 to 2024, and has been the official voice of Superman in the animated series of the same name since 2023.
5) Consecration
Jack Quaid’s career really took off in 2019 when he landed the role of Hugh “Hughie” Campbell in the Prime Video series The Boys, based on the comic book series of the same name. The fifth season of the series, in which his character joins a group that tries to fight superheroes who aren’t really superheroes, is expected to release later this year. This project led to other notable roles for him, including in the last two installments of the Shivers franchise.
6) A busy year
The year 2025 is certainly a landmark one in Jack Quaid’s career. The thriller Sidekick, in which he co-stars with actress Sophie Thatcher, was released in theaters on January 31st. While that film is still playing in select theaters, a new feature film in which the actor plays the lead role, Novocaine, also opens on March 14th. In this completely off-the-wall action film, he plays a bank employee who is immune to physical pain due to a genetic disorder. The day bandits rob the bank where he works and take the love of his life hostage, he decides to go to her rescue, taking every blow he receives without flinching.
7) A love that lasts
It was on the set of the series that made him famous that Jack met his true love. Since 2022, he has been sharing his life with Claudia Doumit, who plays politician Victoria Neuman in The Boys. The lovers confirmed the rumor that they were a couple by walking the red carpet at the Oscars together in 2024.
